Effective January 1, 2011, the generation rate caps that have been in effect since 1999 will expire and a new rate structure will take effect throughout the Met Ed Electric Service Territory in accordance with the overall plan for Pennsylvania Deregulation.  While Met Ed will remain the default supplier of electricity or Provider of Last Resort (POLR), it is incumbent upon all commercial and industrial users of electricity to seek and obtain the best electric rates available for their respective companies.
